Mel Kaufmann
Twenty-five years ago, “networking” was an undefined, frivolous activity. As a marketing representative for the Wilshire Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles, Calif., Mel Kaufmann quickly became aware that most members were leaving chamber events without any new business. For the next two years, he would arrive at the chamber office at 5 a.m. and think of processes he could teach to enhance members’ revenue. During these two years, he discovered 100 “Little Miracles,” and each had the potential to increase profits. Kaufmann began to teach new members “Little Miracles” and the seminars became so successful that he has taught them throughout the U.S. and the world. Over time, he transformed “networking” from grade school to the grad school of relationship building.
